And so it begins...we're officially residents of Austin. Wow! It's been a wild ride so far. We officially moved to Austin on Wednesday, April 29th. We had a busy move in day involving furniture, movers, new carpet and Direct TV installation. It was nuts, but we survived! Our first couple days were spent buried in boxes and trying out delicious food around Austin.
Then on Saturday, May 2nd we took Adalyn to an urgent care clinic due to a nasty cough and a fever that kept coming and going. Once there she became pretty lethargic and her fever spiked to 102.8. The doctor decided to take a chest x-ray and was convinced that she had pneumonia. After monitoring her oxygen levels and two breathing treatments later, Adalyn had her first ride in an ambulance. Bart and Ella went home to pack a bag and met us at Dell Children's Hospital downtown. Of course, Ella kept us entertained during our wait for the ambulance. At one point, she looked at me and said, "I think we should go get lunch while Adalyn rides in the ambulance." Thankfully it was was not pneumonia but a nasty case of bronchitis and we only had to stay overnight so the doctors could monitor her oxygen levels. Adalyn was a trooper but the hospital stay spoiled her a little and now she thinks the best place to sleep is on top of me. If that's the only lasting effect, we will take it. And Ella go a surprise sleepover with Grammy and Buncs while we were at the hospital.
Other than that things have been pretty calm (thankfully). We've been enjoying lots of yummy food, taking walks, going to the pool and of course, going to Target :)
Ella starts swim lessons next week, so were excited to start meeting new friends.
Hopefully I can keep this little blog up to date with more adventures!
